Summer 2008 In The Big Apple Trip

We recently had a short end of summer trip to The Big Apple - New York City. On our way up to NYC the pilot let Justin and Myles sit in the cockpit -- very cool.

Our first day we visited the Museum of Natural History. As you can see from the various exhibits the boys enjoyed themselves. We also made a quick tour of the Central Park Zoo -- it was small but nice, since this a first for Karen and myself went.

We then went high atop the Empire State Building where we got a birds-eye view of the city at Night. The next day we were fortunate to get awesome seats The Lion King (7 rows from the orchestra pit); we could see the sweat on the performers foreheads. The same morning we went to wave to Grandma on the Today Show -- she was able to see me and Myles.

On our last day we took a short trip over to see Lady Liberty -- this was a first for Karen and I as well. The boy liked the Statue of Liberty but spent most of the time chasing after seagulls. As you can see the werent too luck; Myles bit the dust : )

Overall we had a very great time; the room was spacious for NYC ,the subway was hot and smelly, and the pizza greasy as ever. We were happy to make it back to our Southern paradise -- Cheers

Recent Trip to Portland to See My Bro Tom and Family

Despite the below average temp's I managed to have a great time in Portland, OR.
Liam and Ava showed me a great time while I was in Portland -- I especially like their cool Batman and Princess outfits. I hear that mommy and daddy have matching outfits as well - just kidding.
Thanks for the Southern Hospitality - I look forward to the next time we meet. Hopefully we can get our two broods together in a bit warmer place - as Liam would say "for a proper chat." Cheers from the Dirty South -- John

Summer Vacation 07

Recent pictures of the White's trek across the Great Continental Divide. Our trip took us from Atlanta to the following places: Day 1 - Baton Rouge, Day 2/3 - San Antonio TX, Day 4 - Phoenix AZ, Day 5 - Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and Viva Las Vegas, Day 6 and remainder of trip - sunny San Diego.

While in San Diego we managed to catch a few waves at Misssion Beach and La Jolla Beach.

We were able to make it to the San Diego Zoo and Sea World - did you know that Shamu lives in Florida, Texas and Ohio? He really gets around : )

This trip was awesome and we can wait to do something like it next year

Seattle Visit

Karen and I recently spent a weekend in the Great Northwest. The weather was kind of chilly but for the most part we enjoyed weekend away. We were able to make a quick stop at Snoqualmie Falls - believe this is where they filmed the show "Twin Peaks." Spent some time at the Public Market and had sip of coffee at the Original Starbuck. All in all - a great relaxing trip. Cheers

Guitar Playing Dudes

I'm a few months into playing my guitars and the boys are my biggest fans - I dont think James Taylor has anything to worry about anytime soon. The boys got their own guitars
but after one day they chose to return it for a toy they could really bang up - oh well. Myles is really into "Cowboy" music (country) - not sure were he got that from. Give me a few more months and I'll be bringing down the house -- Cheers
